AUSTIN - About 50 people gathered in front of the Exxon gas station at Brodie Lane and William Cannon Drive on Sunday to protest the corporation's ties to the Longhorn pipeline project.

Members of the Save Barton Creek Association, the Safe Pipeline Coalition and People Organized in Defense of Earth and her Resources urged a boycott of ExxonMobil. Protesters toted signs and handed out fliers to drivers at the intersection.

Marguerite Jones, one of the protest organizers, said the pipeline should be rerouted. "We're not going to give up," she said. "Exxon won't beat us."
